Margrethe vestager, the EU's antitrust executive, said eight companies colluded with each other to increase their own interests at the expense of consumers in the capacitor market. In addition to Sanyo Electric and its parent company Panasonic, the companies identified as monopolizing the price of capacitors are Hitachi chemical, Rubycon, Elna, NEC tokin, Vishay Polytech, Matsuo, Nichicon and Nippon chemi con of Weishi. Among them, jiameigong was fined 97.9 million euro (about 764 million yuan), with the highest fine, followed by Nichicon with a fine of 72.9 million euro (about 569 million yuan), and calender was fined about 18 million euro (about 140 million yuan).
